Slogging thru the day...

Tuesday, May 28, 2013

My oldest dd went back to college in Kansas Sunday. Sigh. emoticon

I really enjoyed having the house full and yesterday was such a gray, chilly day that added to my gloom. So I slept in until 8 (! I usually get up at 5:30-6), read the paper and trolled around on SP until noonish. Then went upstairs to shower, but got distracted by my Kindle. I'm reading the latest Dan Brown novel 'Inferno'. It's ok. Not as good as his other books tho emoticon
Read for awhile, then napped for an hour. Then got up and zoned out watching Cake Boss & Island Medium. Just felt sluggish & tired.

I did try to stick to my 'usual' healthy eating routine, but really wasn't feeling it. emoticon
The only slip I had was munching some spicy trail mix stuff my dd left. It had peanuts and some other crunchies, so wasn't horrific calorie-wise. It WAS horrific chemical-wise! Yikes! emoticon

Went to store. Found Yoplait greek yogurt frozen on a stick- 80 cal, 4 gms protein. Not as good as Yoplait lite & fit greek yogurt- 80 cal, 12 gms protein, but hey, it satisfied. I ate 2 over the course of 2 hours. Then drank chocolate protein drink. Kept me from snacking on something I normally avoid emoticon

Ate grilled steak and 3 grilled asparagus tips for dinner. My portion was larger than 'normal', but not large enough to upset my tummy emoticon

Went to Home Depot after with dh to look at plant & yard stuff (his passion). Figured I needed to walk around.

Went upstairs earlier than usual and read my book. Didn't sleep most of night- YUK! emoticon Too hot, too cold, too noisy (people & dogs walking around), nature calling, blah, blah, blah. Alarm for DH up at 4. 4:10 dd in KS calls crying. emoticon emoticon emoticon

She had a cavity fixed here and now her mouth is swollen and VERY painful. She didn't sleep all nite. Wants to know what to do. Fortunately, I bought her dental coverage thru K-State, so she will find a local dentist when she gets to school.

Phone rings again ~15 min later. She's crying again. She went to get gas and make the 90 mile drive back to school from her bf's house and the car wouldn't start. Luckily she's at a gas station by Interstate ~ 5 miles from bf's house. And we have roadside service. So we talked about her asking the gas station guys who to call. Only 15 min wait. emoticon

Towed the car to bf's house ($85), borrowed bf's truck & on her way to work. She had to call in late to work, but her boss was nice about it emoticon . I told her to call me when she gets back to town.....

Did I mention that it's only 6:30 a.m. here and I haven't even started dealing with getting my 11 yr old dd up & ready for school and then get myself cleaned up and start working?????

YIKES!!!

THANKS for letting me vent and use your shoulders Sparkfriends!! I guess I can face the rest of my day now....
