OY! Time Wasters

Monday, May 27, 2013

Cable TV, internet, movies, Office marathons, I love lucy marathons, Sudoku, YouTube, games, puzzles. All of these are fine in moderation, but I don't do much in moderation. I need to learn that. I think I'll set the goal for one day to spend only 1 hour with entertainment. We'll take this one day at a time.

I'm surprised at the dread I am filled with thinking of today as only 1 hour of entertainment. I have a barbeque planned for today with my parents, and my entertainment is a source of self-soothing, so I need to think of another way to achieve that. emoticon maybe?

My fear is that I'll replace one time-waster with another. Drawing, Writing, playing with creativity, shopping...Are those considered time wasters? I definitely could spend more time with Bible Reading and Meditation, exercise, and career building...It will be interesting to see how I spend this day.

Some time wasters are not necessary but enjoyable. I have daily coffee with my sister and chat about anything and everything. Its an hour wasted, but oh so good. I go straight from dropping hubby at work since the coffee shops right next door to where he works. One home, I try to do my spiritual activities first and then pile into my housework.
