Saturday was good, but tired and hurting today

The weekend started out promising. Saturday morning, my pain level in my left hip and knee was low. Normally, it is really hurting before I even get out of bed, so I was thinking that the fact that I woke up with much less pain meant that the last set of injections for my hip and back were starting to help. I still took my pain pill though, knowing that it probably wouldn't stay at that level otherwise.

I was up and around by 8am. Felt a little bit more energized too; maybe it was just having a good feeling about the day, or possibly, my thyroid med is starting to work. (I've been on it 4 weeks now.)
I had a pretty productive morning and early afternoon. After I got my usual Saturday morning chore of bill paying and updating my check register on the computer, I got started on the laundry. I started some chicken marinating to have for dinner that night. I even had my Sit and Be Fit workout done before noon; usually, I'm still pretty achy and stiff at that time of the day so I usually do my workouts in the afternoon. I had a few things in the house I've been meaning to store in the shed, so I took those things out and got them in there. My nephew came over and mowed the lawn.

By around 1pm, the pain started increasing, though it was still at a tolerable level compared to how I was feeling before the last injections. I was able to stretch my time in between taking the pain pills from about 4-5 hours, to 6.

I was feeling let down when I woke up really hurting again this morning. Part of it is probably because I didn't get enough sleep, and maybe I overdid it a little yesterday, though it didn't feel like I was at the time. And being that I just had chemo on Tuesday, it could be my blood counts are starting to drop again. (Blood counts usually don't start dropping from the chemo til around 4-10 days after a treatment.) I still have hope that the injections were helpful; it takes about a week to get the full benefits of the pain relief and it hasn't been a week yet.

I did make it to church this morning. I'm glad I went, but was relieved to get back home and get into my tee shirt and pj pants. I did get a short Sit and Be Fit workout in, and after a 2nd pain pill, I am feeling tired, but the pain is leveling off again.

One of my best friends and her husband, along with their 2 kids, (the ones I consider niece and nephew) called me this afternoon; they were at the cemetery taking care of her parent's graves and planting flowers, and while they were there, they cleaned up and weeded around my dad's grave and planted some flowers. That really meant a lot to me, and I didn't know they were planning on doing that til she called me and said it was done. It just really touched my heart today.

    I hope you get some effective rest soon so all the steps you're taking to counteract the pain and fatigue work better. It's such a catch 22 with pain and fatigue - they lead to each other. Still, you always do your best to do what needs to be done; that's awesome.

    It's great you have such wonderful friends and family who will do good things for you without you needing to ask.

    It's so easy to overdo it when you feel a bit better. But, then it's frustrating when it seems that may have caused a little setback! So sorry! Maybe tomorrow will be a better day! So nice to have someone take care of your dad's grave. I'm sure my brother didn't go do anything and there's really no one left.

    Sounds like you had a good weekend probably over did it because you were feeling good.

    You prob. just over did it a little yesterday, don't try to do quite as much today. Rest and read a good book, move a little more tomorrow.
