I've Made Some Decisions...

Sunday, May 26, 2013

One decision I've made is to get back into my exercise routine that I haven't yet gotten back into since the surgery back in April. I've got nothing planned this week, so I'm going to use this extra time to get back into the swing of things. I've been slacking off, so I just need to do it and get back into it.

The other decision I made is related to work. I still don't have any of my own clients. I've been filling in for other people, but still don't have anyone on a permanent basis. I think I've waited long enough. There are other agencies out there that are hiring, so here's what I've decided - if I don't get at least one permanent client by the end of the month, I'll start sending my resumes out to these other agencies that are looking.

On that note, I need to decide if it would be worth it to stay with this current agency AND take on a new one - or if it makes more sense to just cut my losses and move on. If I kept both, that would be two sets of rules and regulations and time sheets, etc. I'm thinking it would be too confusing to me to try to keep both. I think I will call my boss next week to see if there's anything in the works that would be a good fit for me. What do you think?

I hope you're all having a Sparktacular Memorial Day weekend!!!

Do what benefits you most. My suggestion is to speak with your employer first about when you might get your own patients. If it isn't what you want to hear, then start looking elsewhere.

Renewing your commitment to your workout routine is a great step, and it very well might change your outlook on other things. I often find that feelings of frustration are not really about the thing I'm frustrated with, after all, but about my own feelings of restlessness or being anxious about something else entirely. However, I believe when it comes to your career that it is always smart to keep in touch with what else is out there. Not to say you should jump ship constantly and keep moving from one job to another. But you will be happier with your career choice if you regularly assess that it is still the best choice for you. You also might try checking in with your current agency, letting them know that you think things are going well and you are excited to start building your own client base. They might have some helpful feedback for you about how to make that happen sooner. Good luck, and keep up the good work on your fitness and career goals!

emoticon for getting back into the exercise! I know it's hard to restart sometimes...goodness knows it has been for me.

I think I'd see what another agency has to offer and go from there.

    Have a great weekend!

I would go ahead and contact another agency. If you're not exclusively working for this one company, then you might as well test the waters and see what else is available. In this economy, they certainly can't fault you for trying to find a permanent position.

Also, you may just need to be more patient when it comes to picking up clients. You've only had this job for a few weeks. You really need more time to build your reputation. As you become better known, I'm sure you'll get more clients. However, it doesn't hurt to put out feelers to see what's out there.

Good to hear you are getting back at it. Exercise really helps me feel better. When I can't do it or the thing I love like biking, since I fell off the bike and injured my arm a couple weeks ago-I REALLY miss it. Even my ST can't use weights on that sprained arm.
As far as your job, I can understand your frustration, but to me right now with the economy and lack of jobs out there right now, I would hold on to it until you get a much better offer. I don't think I would do 2 jobs myself, unless you had too. Up to you of course, it is you decision.
Have a great weekend...thanks for the thank you goodie. I am glad I can help! We are all here for each other! emoticon
