Hola Sparks Buddies

Saturday, May 25, 2013

So our rainy season started early. It usually doesn't start until June. But what a welcome thing. It rained enough last night to knock down some of the dust and dirt from the dry season. Things look and smell much fresher. And the lake is going to be so happy if we have a good rainy season as the levels of the lake are really low. I love the rainy season here as it still is very nice all day and then the rain and the beautiful electrical storms come in in the evenings. Here's hoping we have a terrific rainy season with many inches of rain.

Well today I look like I have been in a fight. I can't believe the big swollen black and blue on my face from where they did the lip biopsy. Not fair! One shouldn't have to look this beat up without the benefit of looking younger from having a procedure ; )
Oh well this too shall pass.

I went on line and read about Piriformis syndrome and the sciatic nerve and it suggested walking with the foot turned out on the leg/butt where it hurts. So I have been doing that and it seems to help. I was able to walk the dogs their full 3.5 miles so that felt good.

I am feeling really good so that is good. It would still be nice to have a final diagnosis and know why what happens happens. And it would be nice not to have to take like 40 pills a day. I have so many to take at different times throughout the day that I had to make myself a chart to check them off as I take them.

Thanks again all for the support and well wishes.
Have a terrific Saturday and wonderful Memorial Day week end.

I'm awfully glad you have kept your spirits up and not fallen into a funk with DH gone. You really have a supportive medical team correcting everything that they can and still delving into what the original cause is

Enjoy the rain! The pills are just rotten when you have to take so many, but it is great news that you are feeling so much better. Sorry about the lip too. I loved your foot out while walking solution! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Boy, Sallie... I'm sorry you've had to become a true Veteran of Medical Procedures. And to have a swollen, bruised lip, too, after the biopsy. They have definitely checked for everything under the sun, leaving no stone unturned, and I'm sure you must be feeling somewhat of a sense of relief now, albeit with so many pills to have to take emoticon ...

Good for you, for checking on what you can do re piriformis syndrome to see if walking with that altered gait might bring you some relief. That you were able to cover the doggies' full, 3.5-mile walk is a very good sign. And, I smiled at your description of the rainy season! I remember what a respite it brought to Mexico City from the dry, dustier months. Here's to a much higher, deeper lake! Have a good, peaceful evening and sleep well...I know you could really benefit from that rest. We're thinking of you! emoticon Susan

Sallie this to shall pass! I can remember when I was having to take that much medicine and the charts. At first, I had the nurse living with me because I did not have the strength to take care of myself. Now am down to 4 medications and do not have to have anyone take care of me. Think the stinky times just make us appreciate the good times even more. As they say old age is not for sissies!

So glad you are feeling good enough to enjoy the weather! Your description sounds a lot like Florida, too. We need rain and are getting some... Electrical storms tend to come in the afternoon or later. ..A lot of nice weather in between the rains.

Hoping your medical mystery is resolved, but more than that, hope you continue to feel better and better. -Marsha

It's nice when even the weather contributes to your good feelings. I'm glad you're finding ways around the new setbacks, Sallie. Your determination is such a great example for the rest of us. Keep getting better!

YAY - so glad you found a way to be able to walk!! Now that you are feeling good it would be extra sad to have to curtail your walk because of hip pain! Here's to a full recovery and NO MORE PILLS!! emoticon
