Using SparkPeople - what works for me!

Friday, May 24, 2013

When I first signed on to spark I felt like the only way I would benefit was to do it all! That just didn't work for me. I don't have enough time to spend checking everything and filling out all the tracking logs and responding to all the comments, etc. My goal was to get fit not to sit! So, what works for me? I'm not worrying about calories right now but focusing on better nutrition..time saved when I don't have to track everything I eat. I am a member of several teams but only follow two actively. I set a time limit for logging in and when my time is up I log off even if I'm not finished reading everything. By limiting my use of the site to only those things that will help me the most I have given myself the time I need to exercise and get away from my computer. As my needs change I will change my sparkpeople priorities but for now this works for me. My advise to you is find what works for you right now and ignore the rest.

I think this is a great idea! I log in when I want to eat because it reminds me to be good (I eat when I'm bored). But yeah, there have been times I didn't work out or something because I was reading an article or trying to get more sparkpoints or something! In fact, last night I was going to do a workout video but found such an interesting article that I skipped my workout.

Sorry, hi-jacking your blog here... :) I just wanted to say that I think this is a great idea.
