Slipping a bit, but trying!

Friday, May 24, 2013

First, the good news. I mentioned earlier that I had my first physical in a number of years. The only thing we were waiting for was bloodwork. I got the results in the mail today. I'm normal for everything including cholesterol (which doc was worried about--although I'm only at the minimum for the "good" kind) and glucose (which I was getting worried about).

YAY ME! Now to lose weight and get in shape to keep it that way!

On that aspect, I've fallen a bit off the wagon. Strangely, I still did okay after the crazy day of birthday lunch and dinner out. Had veggie pizza, picked a healthy supper choice. But I tend to drink diet soda at events like that and while not calories, it does mentally end up cutting down my water intake and I noticed the difference! Starting to drag again.

Getting lazy/sloppy and unprepared in meals too. But still measuring and recording diligently and staying within my intake. Today has been hard though. One of those "always hungry" kinda days.

Finally, not exercising. I'm being more active "NEAT", but now I've learned THAT activity is not the same as aerobic fitness activity. It's good too, but I should do both if I want to meet my goals. I used to count that as close enough. But I shouldn't.

And on THAT note. I'm going to go out and DO my fitness by taking a walk!

Congratulations on your good doc results! That's so good. So many of us won't go to the doc because we're afraid of the results, when really the results we DO need to see. So congratulations on being smart with your health. Everyone goes through a rough patch, but I'm sure you'll come out on top in the end. You're doing SO good!

Great news about your checkup. If you need to take baby steps--that's okay. Some days I revert to baby steps just to give myself a break. When you're ready you can push yourself harder. We all have to figure out the best path for ourselves--because who knows you better than you?

Keep moving forward and you're making progress!

Look at all the good things you have done. Yep, we can all definitely improve in some areas, but sometimes we forget to celebrate the successes. emoticon
