Not doing so well

Friday, May 24, 2013

So I have gained and gained. Since breaking my elbow in February I pretty much stopped all of my ST. Inexcusable. Not all ST requires elbows. Sigh. I am up over 200 now, up to 206.6. I tried to blame it on my mini-vacation but really it is laziness. I go out and I order what I want to order. I come home and I crave sweets. I am not doing my part and it is showing. I need to get serious again. I need to make this a priority and stop letting cravings and stress get in my way.

I need to make it happen. As a kick in the butt, my pants are getting tight. I threw out my size 18s last summer and now I may have to buy new ones. The 16s are just...well I don't know. I can't hide in dresses because it is too cold at my workplace and I'd feel funny anyway.

It is time to suck it up and pay the price I guess.

Be well Spark friends.

I've been there. It is not a good place to be and yet it is. You've recognized what you are doing and why. You are using major energy while healing from an injury. Pain takes a lot of stamina away.

You are now ready to make the changes and start moving more. Build up slowly. Take baby steps one at a time and you'll get back to where you want to be. I know you can do it!

I've slipped back and regained, and am working on undoing the damage. It happens. As long as you can pull together and get back on track, that's what is important. Learn from your mistakes and then focus on moving forward rather than dwelling on the past.

I broke my elbow ---- years ago, on a February morning. It took a LOT of energy to do the basics until it healed again. And I didn't count ST as a "basic". I'm talking basic like getting dressed. So be gentle with yourself.

You are NOT alone on this path --- and it goes up and down.

Pretty much everyone takes a few more steps back but the important things is that you start moving forward again. Sometimes the "break" is what you need to start moving forward again. Get back on track, with a plan. You can do this!

I've done the same thing over the last several months. I'm almost back to my all-time highest weight.

    Let's turn this around! emoticon

Okay, this is it: You're hitting rock bottom. Now there is nowhere to go but up.

Do NOT buy anything in a size 18. You won't need them. Instead, get moving: go for a walk, do some squats, stretch, drink water, cook healthier meals...Do all the things that you know are good decisions.

You CAN do it! This is just a slide. Start climbing back up!

Most everyone relapses in one degree or another. You may be having a pretty hefty relapse right now, but you can start over right this minute if you chose to.

Don't feel guilty. Like I said most everyone relapses. Get back on the program.
