So what is the goal?

Thursday, May 23, 2013

OK...so this should be an easy one! Of course I would love to shed the pounds and be comfortable and looking good in just about anything. Still, when asked to write down exactly my goal it really does get tougher.
I mean, do I want to run a race and survive? Do I want to be able to keep up if I went on a trip that included a lot of walking and climbing? This makes it tough for this "fly by the seat of my pants" kind of girl.

Still, I saw a quote the other day that spoke to me. It was basically this: If you don't make a plan for yourself, someone else will. You can follow their plan, but they really don't care what you think!

I can see how so many of us, in particular women, fall for this. We essentially just follow some other person's plan.

Right now my goal is to look good and have the energy needed for my daughter's wedding in July. But honestly, I do see the need to find that other important goal to keep my driving myself forward.

My prayer will be to listen and find what will drive me on this journey to be the best I can be. I will also be looking and listening to all my Spark friends since I never know where my inspiration will come from.

Think about times in your past...perhaps WAY back even into childhood...times when you felt like you were on Cloud 9, running on all cylinders and felt like you were doing just exactly what you were put on the planet to do. What was happening during those times? I'm betting that those snapshots might offer some clues as to what you want to see more of in your life.

No matter what time frame we look at, each person has at least three goals. Be healthy, be happy, and live life to the fullest. emoticon

That is true. I tend to look at other people's goals and say "yep, I want that".
I just want to be healthy above all but I do have some things I want to attain in life.

Yes! Everyone has a "plan" that they "swear by!" But that is only about THEM. Each of us has to figure out our own needs and goals and challenges in order to find what works for you. There is no universal truth to this. Find your path. Then stick with it.
    You have the right idea!!

We all seem to set goals for upcoming weddings, reunions and etc. For a short time goal this is great. Hopefully the goal will continue to a longer life time goal to be healthier and fit for an active and longer life. Wishing you much success with your short and lifetime goals! emoticon
