Good morning. Thanks so much to everyone who is so kind to read my blogs and especially your comments ...encouraging and constructive. I really appreciate the feedback.
Today is beautiful out. The grounds are washed clean by the rain and the sun is BRIGHT.
The farrier was due at 10a but not unusual got tied can never plan a schedule around kids or animals. I got all groomed, hooves picked out, fly sprayed, fed and cleaned their stalls....and waited. I fired off a text...and waited...and then got a bit concerned. Working on animals, especially horses can be very dangerous. Most people who love and own horses care enough to protect their animals and other people by having decent manners trained on them...some folks just aren't aware that a very big animal with instincts to flee or kick can kill a man pretty quick..even if he is accustomed to working around them day in and day out. I was relieved when he called to let me know he had decided to go to Rockwall first. Evidently trimming the five was not going smooth so he will be out later.
Hughey is doing well. He came running up with the others and hollering for his bottles. His abdomen is softer and his posture is relaxed. He chugged down his two bottles and topped it with a few minutes of nibbling lamb feed...his usual routine. I did give him a couple of tablespoons of yogurt at bedtime. That and the honey and time did the trick. Sometimes these little guys just get out of sorts. Hard to know just what all they have nibbled during the day. Everyone else is perking right along.
The lawn and trails are too wet to mow after a 3"drencher yesterday. I will cut some of the roses to renew Mom's perpetual flower arrangement.
I noticed an official looking credit card inquiry on my email so I called the company. Even though it was official looking, including the email address there were several obviously misspelled words...I guess not all crooks use spell check. The company told me it definitely was phishing and had me forward it to their investigative section.
Now...for breakfast I had a lovely tossed salad with Catalina dressing and 5 lunch when I got a little anxious about the farrier I had two hot dogs wrapped up in corn tortillas with mustard and an ounce of cheddar cheese...took the edge off...and later a snack of half a bag of microwave popcorn. It all tasted good today and satisfied me.
I will take a nap til Mom is out of the bath tub and then I will do more straightening up and set my rat traps...

Great blog - it is like reading a few pages of a novel. ;) Of course, it is your life, not a novel, but good reading all the same. Best Wishes to you!

It is a beautiful day. Wonderful to hear about Hughey. Hope all goes well with the farrier.

What kind of roses? I usually liked to trim them up at the end of season, then at the beginning some shaping with the new shoots, and then mid season just so they have a fresh 'hair cut' :). But that was when I was gardening for someone. Love the outdoors, hate the grubbiness. But a definite sense of accomplishment.

Take care, and as usual, thanks for an interesting blog!
