The Spark lessons I am learning!!

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

I spent Sunday with my sister in law, family and a few friends. I love Johnny's side of the family dearly and am glad that they still keep me in there life's. My sister in law would do any thing for you but she is such the most negative person I know. So knowing what I would be dealing with, I got on Sparks read inspiring and positive stories, posted many positive things to my spark buddies, then I prayed to build up my positive attitude,. I was not going to let any one bring me down. I did a wonderful job handling iffy subjects and at one point told my sister in law to move on. Dwelling on the old problems and worrying about the what ifs problems before they even happened was not the way to live your life. All worrying does is waste energy. . I told her to live her life day by day and just take things as they come.

Now moving on to one of the friends of the family. Oh my goodness this lady has always made me so very uncomfortable. I think mostly because of my weight. It was really neat going into the restaurant no one has seen me since I have lost my 22 pounds. I felt great and everyone but that lady compliment me. Whatever I thought! Then it was time to order. Well I had scoped out the menu online ahead of time and figure my calories out. I new exactly what to order. It was my time to order and everyone was listening, but I did not care for I was very confide and positive in my choices. Then the conservation came up...so what diet are you on. Well I think I shock everyone when I told them that I was not on a diet. What do you mean my niece asked. So I told her that I was on a life journey to change my life. I was doing a make over. I now have a life commitment to myself to become a healthy person with a good, healthy and happy heart. I told them that I eat differently, my sleeping habits are different and that I am out and about moving each and every day instead of sitting there watching TV. The lady that makes me feel uncomfortable listened very careful but never say a word. However I did get a smile out of her, so mission accomplished. I really can not wait until the next family gathering I no I will be down more pounds and will be looking better then ever.

So then I got to thinking. Sparkspeople has helped me change so many aspects of my life. It has even help me build a back bone. I try to keep negativity out of my life, but you can't just walk away from family. I do distance myself some. But I now know I can deal with it when needed. The more negativity I was getting on this day the more powerful I felt to be positive. So thanks Sparksguy and all my spark friends for helping me turn my life and attitude around.
Happy Sparking to all! emoticon emoticon emoticon
