Go Girl Run Kansas City - Half Marathon

Monday, May 20, 2013

47 years old and ran/walked my first half marathon this Saturday morning. I always said that if I was ever going to do a half marathon that I would run the entire thing, but I believe that I was wrong on that statement. It is quite a feat just to complete it doing a run/walk combo.

I signed up several months ago with a group of friends from work and than proceeded to not train and get a horrible sinus infection with headaches from hell for the last several weeks. I think I really didn't ever think that I was actually going to do it. Why I showed up totally unprepared and not trained? I will never know. Buit I did. So....I guess my goal was to finish and not be last. I also was hoping not to be carted away by ambulance also. All 3 things were accomplished.

I can say I've done it and I am proud of myself for doing it. I don't belive that I will be doing another one ever again.

emoticon You did it is an accomplishment! Maybe next time, try to do a little bit of training as it's a great way to keep toned and the weight off! Half a marathon, try a 5K and work your way emoticon ! emoticon emoticon
