Surprising Sunday

Sunday, May 19, 2013

I was reluctant, but I made myself go to a new church. I was so warmly welcomed, it was awesome. I was invited and stayed for tea too. I even spoke with one woman about reading and told her about my book club book and invited her to go with me. She had something else on, but said after a minute that she would go with me... How nice... She followed me home and I gave her the book, so will hear from her when she finishes. Also, I have been searching for info on a book set I read about 20 years ago, I've asked at library and went to the main branch in town yesterday and they're looking for it now too. She gave me another author who it might have been, so on with my research.

I had Fibre one cereal with a kiwi for breakfast, corn on cob, can oysters and veggie soup with an apple for lunch, and supper I made chinese and a homemade oatmeal (well, from a mix!) muffin.. and some cranberry sauce.

Well went on a short walk with Buddy this am, but man, it was cold!!! Frost warnings out all day.... holiday weekend here.
And I got my 7 veggie bags done up for the upcoming week...used up lots of veggies, so glad I do this for myself... portable and sitting front and centre in the fridge, it reminds me to eat veggies...

I am glad you found a welcoming church and a new friend. It's supposed to rain the next few days here and then get cold for our holiday weekend.

I'm glad you found an inviting church and made a new friend. That can be so hard to do (both of those things!) and yet it's so valuable. To me, it doesn't really matter what church I go to, but I want to be part of the community and in rural areas that can be hard to do if you don't do the church dinners and garage sales and the like. Plus, it's fun!
