One morning during the past week I was reading a blog on another website and discovered a new way of finding gratitude in my day. Before I ever get out of bed each morning, I already spend a few minutes thinking of all the things I have to be grateful for in my life but this question gave my daily question a new way of looking at all my blessings.
"What's good about your life right now?"
RIGHT NOW. As I'm writing this, I'm admiring all the different birds (with all their beautiful colors) that are at my feeder, birds that I don't normally see at this time of the year. (They knew better than to come through in April!!) It's warm enough outside to have a window or two open and my house has that fresh, "aired-out" smell. I accomplished a lot yesterday and while today will be a busy day, I don't feel that need to overdo today in order to finish what didn't get done yesterday. I have this wonderful creative outlet to write and share what I've learned. And coffee has always been my proof of the existence of a higher being!
Some of you may recall my niece who had a brain tumor removed in April of 2012 and has completed radiation/chemo and is now on maintenance chemotherapy. Today she is running in the Chicago Spring Half-Marathon; the official charity is the Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute where she has been receiving her treatment.
What's good about my life right now? More than I can possibly express in words.
Quick, what's good about your life RIGHT NOW?
