Swimming With The Whale Skarks
Sunday, May 19, 2013
We are just finishing our first week on the road through Central Australia. Lots of highlights but the most amazing day was the day we went swimming with the whale sharks. They are huge, hence where the name comes from. They look like they have a poke a doted shin and it is rough as the roughest sandpaper. They didn't mind us being in the water with them. In fact I think they liked teasing us by brushing up against our legs.
All the pictures except the last one are of my son in the water. (These are not virtual)
The coral reef is lovely and so fragile. But you can get some nasty cuts on it too so we had to be very careful. But the under sea life is so amazing. And the color. None of us wanted to leave
Another highlight was seeing the huge sea turtles come on the beach to lay their eggs,
Other things we did is swim with the sea lions, and just yesterday we went to a Gorge that was so breathtaking, you just couldn't believe, It even made the Grand Canyon look sad.
This is the circular Pool we swam in at the end of our day.
Today we climbed Mt. Bruce
And tonight we dine on a Game Tasting Plate for Two Sharing (40)
A selection of emu fillet, crocodile tail, kangaroo backstrap with trio of dips, caper berries,
salad, marinated vegetables and bread roll, you want to come and join us?
and then back to our campsite to relax and
enjoy the campfire.
