Slow Progress IS Progress

I was thrilled to land back in 160Ville this morning - while my official weigh in is not until tomorrow - I was at 168.5lbs!! A number I have not seen since mid-December 2012.

My progress on this weight loss journey has been slow. I have regained some weight and now working to get it back off. But as the poster says... progress is progress - it's not a race, but rather a means to getting to our goal destination! Everyone goes at their own pace, and all we can do is OUR best.

Along the way we meet up with challenges and life circumstances that pull us off path, but what matters is getting back in the game.

I'm feeling very optimistic about closing the month of May with many successes, but there have been some tough times. What matters most is to stay strong with our determination, motivation and dedication - because this is no 'diet'... this is a permanent lifestyle change!

I have been going strong with my 5-Factor fitness program - completing week 4 of the first 5 (I plan on doing a 2nd 5 weeks at a more advanced level). I'm feeling great about finally finding a program that I'm sticking with - perhaps because it's simpler than most. At some point I'll be ready to push myself to the next level - perhaps a more intense program.

I have plenty of Beach Body DVDs/Programs - most of which I never completed the full program because I find them too long or too hard or I simply get bored doing the same workouts. I have Turbo Jam (my favourite), Slim in Six, 10 Minute Trainer, ChaleanExtreme, and of course SP Workouts (Bootcamp, ST and the bonus ones I received for getting the SparkSolution) and loads of others from various fitness experts. The key is mixing it up to make it so it's a program I can follow and stick with. I do know ST is one area I truly want to focus on with my age and one of my rewards for when I reach my 20lbs weight loss mark is to get the Les Mills Body Pump. I tried that class once at Good Life and felt it was a great workout. Would love to be able to do it at home. So I'm working to reach that 20lb goal again.

My eating this week has been relatively good - I did feel more 'hungry' on some days than others and did crave some sweets, but managed it relatively well (and it shows this morning on the scale).

So here's to a successful week. Here's to us my friends ... as we push through those tough times to reach our ultimate destination!!
