Derailed, deterred but still determined!!

A quick up date on my progress of late: NIL!!!!!!

I have been golfing lots and watching the calories. Well, maybe adding back a few treats but still keeping very aware of how much I am eating.

The problem?????

The 'bleeping' computer is so slooooooww!!!!!!!!

I try to go in and track my food and because I don't always have what is on the menu I have to type in what I did have and then I wait ..... and I wait ...... and I wait! And the popup ads .... and the popup ads ........ and the popup ads!!!!! UGGGGGGH!!!

Is anyone else finding this a problem? I never used to have to wait and wait like this. I usually like to get on, track my food, my exercise, etc. Spin the wheel, read a couple blogs and comment on a couple of my teams, but with all the new popups and wait time I have virtually given up.

So really I am not a very happy camper. I do feel like I have been derailed and definitely deterred. I am still determined to reach my goals but I have to say I am not impressed with Spark People at this moment.

I consider myself a pretty savvy computer person and have done all the necessary cleanup. However I am totally open to suggestions if someone can help me speed up the process.

I would rather be doing this:

than growing old doing this:

On a happier note I did walk the golf course for four hours Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

On the downside I haven't logged in any calories since last weekend.

Is anyone else having trouble with the wait time?????

emoticon on your progress. You are motivating me to get back on track.
As far as the logging goes here, I am way to impatient to use Sparkpeople. I have tried and always lose interest and just log manually.

That was one of the reasons, I had my computer stripped and different operating system put on. There have also been problems with the Spark website as well. Combine the two and it does get discouraging. Hope you find a solution, make it much easier.

emoticon Gosh, I thought I was the only one who had problems. It was completely shut down late in the afternoon and past bedtime last night. I was so glad to see SP up and running this morning. I've had a similar spell of not tracking. emoticon I do not need any valid excuses not to track, I find pretty good ones all on my own!

Great idea to bring out the weights. I'm slower than the computer when it comes to using different browsers, but I will look into doing this.

emoticon emoticon Great job on all the fitness minutes!! emoticon

I am definitely having the same trouble. Last week I decided to bring my dumbbells to the computer and lift them while I wait for the pages to connect, but, I would much rather get it done and be on the golf course earlier also. I might try the tip from BARBANNA. I use Firefox and AOL, so, maybe one will be better than the other. emoticon

It all depends on time of day. If you enter the site later in the day it is much slower as people are home from work. I have gotten used to the delay. I work out while I am using my laptop via bungie cord so I do a HIIT when it get's really slow. I also multi-task via multiple web browsers and Itunes. If SP is slow on one browser I switch to another and see if it is running at the same speed. emoticon emoticon
