Dreaming of the weekend

Friday, May 17, 2013

I know I had two days off this week (home sick), but I am still glad it's Friday. The two days off meant more work when I got back, and I'm heading into a huge, stressful, busy week that starts today (Friday)! Fortunately I have the weekend off. What in the world would I do without the weekend??

I wanted to hit the MTB trails after work today, but have to be there late and have a "Game Night" date with my college roommate's family. I always bake cookies for her kids when I come over, but I have zero time today -- AND I don't want to tempt myself with cookie dough. So, they're going to have to be OK with chocolates from the shop at the office.

Tomorrow morning, I will hit the bike trail with a friend who just got a new bike. Her husband will come along and be frustrated because we're so slow -- he misses my husband so much while he's gone -- but then we'll go to the farmer's market and I can have something more in my fridge than beer and ketchup. I have really run down my supplies -- thank goodness for frozen fruits and veggies or I would have been eating grains and protein only for the past few days!

Sunday I WILL hit the MTB trail, and hopefully the buddy will bring another buddy. I do better when I'm mountain biking with boys, like I have to be sure to beat them or something. Depending on how hard they work me and how good I feel, maybe I'll do a little workout video or something, too. Monday will be a drag, so I have to pack in the fun and fitness while I can.

I suppose I should also have other projects to keep me busy! I will need groceries, should hem some pants, can finish organizing the basement office and maybe I'll finally have two hours to watch a movie? I have been wanting to do that since hubby left (more than two weeks ago) and haven't had the time. Ahhhhhh, to relax on the couch...

And when I get to a milestone on the scale, there's a massage waiting for me. Unfortunately I don't think it's going to happen this month. If I hunker down, perhaps June will bring relief for my stressed-out back muscles?
