Blogging as Therapy

My blogging has become a source of therapy if you will for me. Here on SP it's how I start my day by going through some positive affirmations and formulating a blog to kind of reflect on some thoughts that come to me as I move forward on my journey.

I always try to keep it relevant and most times not so detailed in order for it to apply to others when they read it - so that it fits perhaps with something they may be going through. It gives me great joy when I receive the comments to hear that it actually is helping some, and giving them a boost to start their day.

I am on day 5 of my 100 day challenge of being alcohol free (AF). I was so inspired by the leader who started the challenge, that I decided to start a blog there to mostly blog about my journey on that side of the fence... meaning that blog will be more focused on things going through my head on a day to day basis as I strive for sobriety for 100 days (and perhaps more).

I know the team members of Cutting Down the Booze get 'it' - but my issue with this is not something I felt warranted posting on SP. For me SP is more the place where I want to focus on other aspects of my health. So I will continue to post my inspirational blogs here... give you some updates on my day to day life... that will happen in the morning and the other blog which I titled "Lose 'da Booze" will occur later in the day or anytime I need to work through some tougher moments.

The blogs there may not always be as positive because it's meant mostly for me - to help me work through the issue of losing a habit which has prevented me from reaching so many goals.

On the family side of things - this week has been more peaceful and we are all attending counseling to work through our issues. My wonderful workplace is allowing me to work from home so I can accommodate my youngest's appointment today.

It's also the long weekend for us in Canada and since I'm staying AF - I wrote myself a to do list of things to get done should I get urges and cravings. My youngest is going away with a friend for the weekend to Mont Tremblant so I'll use the opportunity to do something with my 16 year old - one on one.

And it looks like the weather will be good... so I plan on enjoying some time in the sun... Happy Friday SP Friends!! May you bloom like the wonderful spring flowers!! Here's to NEW beginnings!
