Go with the flow!!!

Friday, May 17, 2013

I,ve decided that for the next couple of weeks i,m going to go with the flow. Foodwise, yesterday, i did ok, didnt go over my alloted calorie intake, but,as you know, i have friends visiting and we do like a tipple or two (or three)!!! So, i,ve decided that if i can keep my food choices good then I,ll just have to deal with my alcohol consumption at the end of their holiday. I know this isnt the ideal solution but that,s just the way it,s going to be........ thank goodness no more visitors until July so hopefully, i can take a break. Enjoy your day x emoticon

I know there are articles on SP about the calories in different drinks. Try searching for them then use that to help choose what drinks you'll have. You'll still enjoy yourself but if you can save a few dozen or even a few hundred calories it will be beneficial in the long run.

It's also good to note that indulgence isn't a bad thing, and can be enjoyed within reason. When you do it mindfully - thoroughly reflecting on why you're indulging, what other options are available (such as a lower calorie version or homemade version of a snack), setting and keeping to a limit (ie will only have 2 drinks not 10), and taking the time to savor and enjoy the indulgence - will allow you to make the most of the experience. When an indulgence is seen as a rare treat then it becomes so much better.

Cutting loose every once in awhile won't hurt anything. It is still important to enjoy life and have fun with friends. emoticon
