what we know and not know

Thursday, May 16, 2013

My special blood work came back for autoimmune things and they were all negative. The RA factor was at the highest number for normal so that is an issue which I thought. And the x-rays of hands and feet for sure point to that and RA can interfere with digestion.
The cat scan of my digestive systems points to highly inflamed colon. So with the severe gastritis, inflamed colon and spastic colon I have issues. Just not sure what is causing it all.
I know there can be false negatives for an autoimmune disease and therefore they are going to do another test on Friday for something that they tested
in blood work but was negative called Sjogren syndrome.
Also it's very rare but my B12 in my blood is twice as high as normal and all the docs are stumped on that.
My GP doctor here the one who is managing my care and owns the clinic where I go believes in combining homeopathic medicine, Chinese medicine as well as Western Medicine and introduced me to her on staff homeopathic/nutritionist and I meet with her today at 10am. She believes I also have a symptom called leaky gut and will work with me on that.
I don't know why I would have that with the way I eat...but will do what she says as I am willing to try just about anything.
I am not feeling too bad today. Just a bit tired as I had a barky dog at 4am. Had to get up and tend to her and then hard to get back to sleep.
Hope all of you have a great day.
Thanks again so much for your well wishes for me.

Okay Sallie, I am with you, it is time to get ot the bottom of all of this so that you can get back to your normal life. I wish we had doctors in this country that believed in homeopathic and chinese medicine for our illnesses. I believe that many of them work so much better than the chemicals with high side effects that our pharimicutal companies want everyone taking. I do know that when I feel bad I can drink some of my herbal teas and they pick me back up. Have a great day and enjoy your food that is being prepared for you

I'm actually relieved for you as it's better to know something as opposed to nothing! I would suspect that your nutrition will be reviewed and altered? Thanks for sharing, Sallie! Stay positive!

So glad you are getting some answers and that you have a wonderful doctor who believes in alternative medicine as well as western medicine.
Leaky gut is often caused by wheat.. it may be best avoided.

Get rested, Sallie. You don't need to be tired on top of everything else. Maybe a siesta is in order today? It is frustrating that they still don't really understand what is going on with you. I know you are doing your very best to be a good patient. Take care.

Have you read Dr. Mark Fuhrmans book THE BLOOD SUGAR CURE or read anything by Dr. Gary Taube? These two authors might shed some light on the leaky gut syndrome.

Good luck and at last you're on the path to finding some answers. BTW, I have autoimmune Hashimotos Thyroiditis (basically an autoimmune hypothyroid) and for awhile had Sjogrens syndrome, but my main symptom was a very dr mouth. That was 13 yrs. ago and now I am all right w/clean eating.
