Today was not a good day for me. I am still feeling very depressed. I did get new medication but I was told that it can take 2 to 6 weeks before I start feeling better. I feel so down. I just wish that this depression would go away. Thank you everyone for all of your support you have no idea how much it had meant to me.

emoticon to you ... so glad you are back posting!

Like everyone else said ... take one day at a time. Make sure you exercise, will give you natural endorphin lift and keep coming back here.

Glad to see you posting again, Tanya... Yes, it will definitely take time for that antidepressant to work, and 2 to 6 weeks sounds about right to me (depending on the antidepressant, I've found). Until then, start experimenting with new ways of looking at things, even if they don't feel natural at first. Try to see negative experiences as learning opportunities and times that changed you for the better in some way or ways - because the truth is, they did. You emerged a better, stronger person from them...

I like the other poster's idea of "acting as if." That's one that's often worked surprisingly well for me. Sometimes it won't, but don't let that discourage you. And do something you love just for YOU today. emoticon

I really hope the meds work as quickly as possible for you. In the mean time, let all our good wishes lift you up.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Try to think of something you can do that will get you outside or away from the house for a little while. That might help you feel a little better.

Its rough that you are fighting depression and the meds won't be working for two to six weeks, My therapist once told me its okay to feel depressed, its just not okay to act depressed. What would you be doing if you weren't depressed? When you figure that out then go and do them one at a time, and don't forget to exercise, even if its pacing back and forth across the floor Hang in there! You can do it! emoticon

I'm just glad you are doing what you need to make yourself better. It is not an easy task - especially when the medical system is difficult. So very happy for that - and I'm glad you know that it can take a while. I'm waiting for the day that you post you are feeling better - but I am glad that you are on the path to that.

Take each day slow - take care of you as much as you are able. Don't worry about trying to do to much at one time. Right now - the focus should be for you to feel better.

I am so proud of you - that you took those steps - asking for help. It means a lot that you still want to be around. I know for sure you are a ray of sunshine . . . just waiting to sparkle!

    Sending hugs and best wishes,
    Sumay
