Breaking Thru the Junk Food Barrier

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Today, I finally broke through the junk food barrier and made some fresh juice for brunch. I have a Breville juicer, and while I do NOT favor juice fasts, I do favor drinking fresh veggie juice for snacks and breakfast/brunch some days. I advocate moderation.

It's been extremely difficult since our son, girlfriend and baby came to live at our house to carry on with plant-based eating. I lost 50 pounds while it was just my husband and I here, but adding extra people to the mix caused me to just throw my hands up and admit defeat last June (2012). As a result I have gained back 35 pounds of what I lost. The lack of support from my family members really gets to me.

But, today I have just had enough - enough snack food, enough junk food, enough of not feeling well. Since April 22 I have suffered with a very bad case of hives. They are gone now, and now is the time to strike back against hives, IBS, FM, bad food and indifference!

Everyone is gone from the house for the rest of the day. I had my juice, had a shower and am dressed, connected up my little stereo with the 5-CD changer I got a at a garage sale for $5 and plays wonderfully and loaded it up with CDs (Gregorian Chant, Enya and Copeland). If I feel good enough a little later I may warp up my new loom and give it a try. And I will think about planning my next hike. I can do that....this afternoon is mine.

Good blog. I can't wait to see more. I gained back 20 last summer of the 50 I lost. I managed to shake that off during Biggest Loser. Now to break that stupid 200 plateau. Thanks for the reminder to get to the store and drink my veggies. I feel so much stronger and my skin is nicer when I get the veggies down. We can do this. Are you up to a walk around the park yet? Also, thanks for the Veggie Goodies. Can't decide which one of your teams I want to join. Which one are you active on?
