The Philadelphia Rock and Roll Half Marathon

I am beyond excited for this race! I have signed up for it through TNT and we have our first meeting this weekend. I have been out running but this time I am actually following a training plan instead of trying to fit all my training in the month before the race (and end up with a foot injury). My goal is to finish in less than 3 hours and to be able to run more of the race. I would also like this to aide in my weight loss efforts but am trying to figure out exactly how to feed my body so it will have the energy it needs for running while still creating a deficit. Any suggestions? There is so much information out there, but I would like to hear from someone that has actually had real results.

So here goes nothing! After this one, I plan on doing the Princess Half in Disney World again. Anyone in the Philly area that is also running the Rock and Roll half?

    Congrats on training for a half marathon. I'm going to be running one in June (sadly not the Philly). It's a lot of work but it's worth it.

    Honestly, I haven't found that perfect balance of food in, calories burned through running. BUT, my legs and butt are getting lean and toned! The muscle mass I'm building is offsetting the fat I'm loosing and I'm fine with that. Make sure you measure your inches and have a good look at your body, the scale may not move but you could still be having a lot of progress.

    Oh and speaking of progress, if you're not already running longer distances you'll be making progress in that area too! 3 months ago I couldn't run, this week I'm up to 8 miles!
