Day 7 GF - going good

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Things are going really well for my daughter and her new GF diet.

For Mothers Day, she helped me make a GF banana nut bread which was AMAZING! Everyone loved it and couldn't believe it was gluten free! Later that day, we went grocery shopping and she picked out all kinds of GF items, and so far, she's loved everything that we bought! Finally, for dinner on Mothers Day, we picked up pizza and she got to have her own GF pizza - which she really liked (and felt pretty special to have her very own pizza)!

Stomach-wise, she hasn't had any stomach pains since Friday emoticon

Today, she's going on a field trip to the local ballpark to see our hometown "Aces" play! I'm chaperoning, and will do my best to not have a repeat of any "embarrassing mom" moments like I did at her class party last week....

Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement and advice! I REALLY appreciate it!

    Glad it's helping.

For me, anything beyond 1 serving (I *know* I shouldn't eat more than 1 serving but I'm being honest, I can eat like 6 servings of any given junk) of gf 'foods' gives me tummy troubles resulting in colon spasms (lock-down) for a few days, then finally bathroom ills (only helped 'out' by magnesium). Tapioca or rice, on the other hand, gives me diarrhea. Gross but just a warning!

I ate 3 servings (ahem, that's 6 cookies) of gf cookies last night -- at least I got cleaned out ;p
