Motivated to Keep Tracking

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

I am blown away but how much tracking my food is totally changing the way that I eat. The first day I tracked I went over my calories (which was fine) all the other days except for Mother's Day I have actually been under. In a way, for me it is almost like a game to see which foods I can choose to give me the least calories and the most potassium, calcium and other nutrients. In the beginning I was eating banana chips every single day because I felt they weren't that many calories but yesterday when I saw that, that was where the bulk of my calories came from and they weren't even filling well, I've made some different choices today.

The other changes I've made is I really haven't been exercising. I'm on a new blood pressure medicine which makes me tired all of the time. Normally if I was trying to actively lose weight I would be trying to exercise like crazy, until I overdid it and stayed away for a while. This time I know that the month of May is about tracking and building that as a habit, if I get to exercise nice, if not oh well.

Now my goal for next month will be all about continuing to track everything that goes past my lips and pulling in physical activity into every part of my life, but I'll deal with that next month.

Dried fruit is shocker for everyone. We think we are doing a good think (and we are in part) but ohh the calories and the sugar. Great lesson to learn.

Sorry to hear you have an issue with the blood pressure medicine you're on. A full blown HIIT program may not what you need right now however taking a few short walks does the body good and prepares you/your body for when you are ready to include more strenuous workouts.

It's wonderful that you'll sticking with the nutrition tracker. It's wonderful what you learn from it. Keep up the good work. emoticon emoticon

I agree with tracking, it is hard to kid yourself when you honestly track everything. Good Lick.
