On The Road Again

Sunday, May 12, 2013

Today is the beginning of a new 6 week Trek traveling in campervans through Central Australia.

Joannie and I were in a hurry to get started so we left them all in the dust. We left Albany and are heading to Perth with a stop at the wood shed. That will be about 259 miles which will take about 4 hours driving time. Speed lihit is 110kilometer/hr which in America is 68 miles an hour. We have our CB radios on and my handle is Leadfoot (can you guess why?)

Two hours later we arrived at the Woodshed. There is so much to see here, and shopping. We went into the Sheds Cafe' They had a chicken and leak pie to die for and apple cake. It was so good. I got a real kick out of the sign that announced they were open year round except for the Friday before Easter, Christmas Day and Boxing day---well had never heard of boxing day and I know how America loves it's sports, my mind went directly to Sports. emoticon But then I remembered kangaroos and thought of I know, I was no where close.

I found out it was another day like Christmas, had nothing to do with sports or kangaroos.
And that many countries celebrate it. Including Canada and I am only about 70 miles from there. emoticon who would have thought.

Hopefully the trekkers will find us here. More Blogs will be following with amazing pictures. Later today if we are brave enough we will swim with the Sea Lions.

They better not try to kis me cause I don't like the smell of fishy breath!
and I leave you with this

LOL, yes Boxing Day is an important day here in Canada. Laughed at the idea of the kangaroos. Hope you are enjoying your cross country trek. I am filled with admiration Now, remember, that apple pie is not suppose to be a DAILY occurrence. Enjoy and have a great holiday. Are they celebrating Victoria Day down there this weekend?

Glad to see you on the road again as you had such a great time on your last trek in Australia. I know about Boxing Day as it's also big in England where my bil is from. Enjoy yourself to the Max. I have to admit I got a little worried about you when I read yesterday on the chat that your eye was hemmoraging, so go to the eye Dr. soon if it doesn't start to get better. Take good care and don't do anything I wouldn't do--LOL! Viva Australia!!

emoticon blog Gail. It was a great start to what should prove another grand adventure. The cartoon Roo was clever. I can't believe you came up with the same song that has been running through me head for the last two days. Its so perfect for the trip beginning. His voice has changed some, but he still sounds like our beloved Willy Nelson
