A few weeks ago, I realized that I was in a rut with my workouts. I've been doing DDP Yoga since last May, and although I still love the workout, I've become a bit TOO accustomed to it. It was getting too easy for me to "zone out" during the workout and just go through the motions. So I decided it was time for me to take a break from it, and look for a new workout.

So I started looking around for a new workout to do instead, and I mentioned to my hubby that I was going to put my DDP Yoga DVD's away for a month or so. He has always been super supportive of me on my journey to being as healthy as I can, but he was NOT very supportive of this decision. He was so sure that I was making a huge mistake, and we argued a bit about it. Finally I told him that its MY body and MY health, and I'm going to do whatever I want.

Anyway, around this time, a friend of mine went to a yard sale and found this stability ball workout DVD...

I think she only paid a dollar for it...great bargain, huh? (How come I never find stuff like that at yard sales??) Anyway, she thought I would like it so she sent it to me. It has a 30 minute cardio section, and after watching the DVD I thought it looked fun...and challenging! So I decided that this would be my replacement for DDP Yoga.

*Other workouts I do;

Angie Miller Kettlebell Bootcamp 3X a week
My Fitness Coach for Wii daily
and emoticon daily

I started doing my new stability ball workout at the beginning of this month. Well, the first time I did the cardio workout, it certainly WAS a challenge! I could barely get through 18 minutes before I'd have to pause and then finish it a bit later. It really gets my heart rate up! But I knew if I kept doing it, I would get better. And guess what? After less than two weeks of doing it, I'm able to do the whole 30 minutes! Wow, does it make me sweat! I love how it makes me have to push myself. I will continue to do this workout for another month or so, and then I'll go back to my DDP Yoga. (I miss it! But I know that taking a break from it is the right thing for me.)

Anyway, this month has been great and I am making progress! In just 11 days, my pants already feel a wee bit looser. Hubby has noticed, too! So now he admits that he was wrong, and I was right...I DID need to change things up for a bit.

So if you're in a rut and not feeling motivated, maybe you need to find a new workout too. It can't hurt to try, right? There are so many workout choices out there, so look for something that you enjoy and that challenges you. It might help you get your mojo back!
