So, last night I was reading my new Running magazine...I love that magazine, those people are so crazy passionate about running that you just can't help wanting to get up and run when you read it!

After reading, I was contemplating adding another running day to my weekly regimen. I always run Mon/Wed/Fri, which gets it all done during the week and gives me a rest day in between each run. But I kind of want to ramp things up, and I don't think running four days a week will put me at risk for injury - I only do a couple miles total, I'm not running the entire time, and I don't run fast.

So this morning when I woke up, I was laying in bed, motivating myself to get up and try it, and then I thought hey, I'll do my weekly weigh-in, I bet that'll motivate me. Oh yeah! Up several pounds. WAH! But it got me out the door and running.

I went around the park today since it was already light (I usually stick to neighborhood streets when it's dark), and there's a little hill to go up near the beginning. I've never tried running it before, but today I did. It wasn't as hard as I expected, but I think it caught up with me later. By the time I was 2/3 through, I was just ready to die, don't know whether it was that hill, or running two days in a row, or what. So on the last run, I crapped out at 1-1/12 minutes, which was disappointing (I've been doing 3-1/2 min. runs). But then I thought hey, just because I can't do 3-1/2 right now, doesn't mean I can't do 3-1/2 total! So after a couple minutes of walking, I banged out a 2-min run.

So I got 14 min in, and I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. And rewarding myself with a lovely bowl of steel-cut oatmeal topped with dates and a dash of maple syrup. Yum.

Okay, here's what I did this week:
-Sun. 5/5 - 40 min. walk around the park
-Mon. 5/6 - 15 min. running (run 3, walk 2, x5)
-Tue. 5/7 - half hour yoga
-Wed. 5/8 - 14 min. running - run 3-1/2, walk 2!
-Thurs.. 5/9 - half hour yoga
-Fri. 5/10 - 14 min running - run 3-1/2, walk 2
-Sat. 5/11 - 14 min running - run 3.5, walk 2 x3, then 1.5 + 2-min runs

And here's the week according to Fitbit:
-Sun. 5/5 - 10,092 steps, 4.65 miles, 2255 cals
-Mon. 5/6 - 5223 steps, 2.63 miles, 1926 cals (forgot to put it on after I showered, didn't get it back on till I got home from work)
-Tue. 5/7 - 7010 steps, 3.22 miles, 2064 cals
-Wed 5/8 - 11,205 steps, 5.45 miles, 2348 cals
-Thurs. 5/9 - 6834 steps, 3.13 miles, 2055 cals
-Fri. 5/10 - 11,633 steps (wow!), 5.6 miles, 2379 cals

And today I'm already at 5078 steps, 2.58 miles, and 909 cals, and it's not even 9am. :-) Good way to start off the weekend!

Well, guess I'd better go grab my coffee and start diving into this beautiful day. Happy weekend, all!
