Just missed that goal

Saturday, May 11, 2013

Last month I decided to start streaking. I set a streak goal of taking 10,000 steps a day for 30 days. Now I know to some of you that isn't anything. However, to me it takes alot of effort. The biggest obstacle is that I have a desk job. While I have been trying to follow the recommendation that you get up and move 2 minutes every hour, you really cannot get too many steps in. I also take the long way to and from the bathroom while at work.

In order to get my exercise in, I need to get up early and get it done before the kids wake up and I have to get to work. Which means, I am usually up between 5:30 & 6 am. This week was a really stressful week for me. Especially Friday. I just could not get up yesterday my body was spent.

I hit 27 days of that streak!! I am pretty proud of that. Starting new today to try to hit it this time. emoticon

When life gets in the way, jump right in to a new day. emoticon

27 days out of 30 is AMAZING!!! I set the same goal of 10,000 a day and you are 100% right that it's not easy to get in that when you have a desk job. The first week I was getting between 7,000 and 8,000 steps. This week I've started walking during lunch and now I'm getting between 13,000 and 15,000 (depending on if I stay at my desk a lot). I feel like I REALLY have to push myself to move.

    Keep up the great work!!!

    Congratulations on your streak!

I give myself a break on Sundays from getting 10,000 steps in. If I do, great, if not, that's fine. Some Sundays are just to crazy busy or spent relaxing with family for me to get my steps in.

My current 10 minutes or more exercise streak is at 43. I was at 98, and then on Easter Sunday I totally forgot about getting even 10 minutes in.
