Crisis Resolution

Friday, May 10, 2013

THANKS SO MUCH to everyone who replied!!!!

Sometimes I just need to see and read the words of what my gut is telling me emoticon

I ended up texting her that night saying simply "Carpooling is stressing me out and hurting our friendship. Let's take a break and just take and pick up our own kids." (I knew that short notice would not cause a problem for her.)

Saw her the next day at dd's game and we looked at each other and just said 'sorry!'.
Things feel ok. I feel WAYYYYYYY less stressed!!

PS: Writing here for help really saved me from going off the deep end and binging my brains out! While I DID eat more than usual, I only ate foods that are on my plan (cheese sticks, ff cottage cheese, greek yogurt). My new 'comfort foods'????

Glad you took care of the stressful situation as quickly as you did....I also like your new comfort foods....good idea. I think I will make a small list of new comfort foods to go to. Have a wonderful weekend. emoticon

Good for you acting on that situation! You sound happier. Have a great day without carpooling!

I'm glad that the resolution didn't appear to cause any harm......I had to quit a carpool situation a few years ago as it was becoming quite clear that I was getting the raw end of the deal (and I had a large car, so I really depended on getting a benefit from the situation)!

Thank you for not leaving us wondering how it went.
I am so happy that she ended up being a real friend, and not a 'friend'.
And that you only went a little over your cal on very PC comfort food!
    Good for you PATTI
    You won that challenge!

I didn't give any advice, but I'm glad things worked out. Sometimes, these situations do put stress on a relationship! I'm glad that you both were ok with the decision and that it seems like your friendship is as strong as ever! emoticon
