30 Day Squat Challenge!

Thursday, May 09, 2013

Does anyone else agree that Spark needs to be more accessible for handheld devices? I have an iphone 4s and I feel like all I can really do without hassle on it is track my nutrition, fitness, and water on the app. But I would love to be able to do more with my spark page/spark groups but its hard to navigate.

Anyway, I've been doing pretty well lately, been setting my goals "lower" aka more doable and reasonable. This has meant trying to stay between 1200-1300 on my nutrition and my daily workouts include squat challenge in the morning, and Ripped in 30 workout in the evening, with 1-3 mile walk or jog outdoors afterwards. Knowing that I only have a 30 minute workout ahead of me makes me dread it less. Plus I remind myself that 30 minutes is only 2% of my day! And surely I can set aside 2% of my day to invest in my health. Let me tell you though, you definitely FEEL that 30 min. I am such a big Jillian Michaels fan. The hard part though about not doing lengthy gym sessions like I used to is that I have less of a buffer if I have a bad day nutrition-wise.

Anyway, has anyone tried the 30 Day Squat challenge that has been going around Facebook/Pinterest etc? I thought I'd give it a try. I needed something to do in the morning that wouldn't be super intense or time consuming but would get my mind into the game and jump start my day. Here it is along with a progress pic someone posted online. I'm currently on day 4.
