May Goals

I can't believe it is already May 8th, and I am just doing my goal blog for the month! A lot is going on in my life right now and this first week has not been the best. Besides the excitement and hecticness of getting ready to move out of our house in another month and become full-time RVers, and starting the process of planning my retirement for the end of this school year, my mom went into the hospital last Friday and is still there: she had a low hemoglobin count and a low heart rate. She is very fortunate that she didn't have a heart attack or stroke. She got a pacemaker put in and they are doing lots of tests to see if she has any internal bleeding. My dad is at the hospital constantly, not wanting to be alone at the house at their 55 years of marriage, they have rarely been apart. My sister and I have been sharing time at the hospital with both of them each day. I am not sleeping well and feel pretty exhausted!

For all of these reasons, I have to keep my goals simple for this month...basically to keep thinking positive and living each day to the best of my ability, eating healthy foods, drinking plenty of water, and moving as much as possible with my busy schedule. It's been hard not to eat mindlessly and emotionally in the past week, so my focus this month will be on eating 5 or more freggies a day, rather than expecting to stay within my calorie limits. I also do not expect to have time to do formal workouts for much of this month...instead my focus will be to keep active and moving each day-there's plenty for me to do, that's for sure! And finally, I want to stick with SparkPeople and my great Hyacinth team...I am grateful for all the support and prayers!
