On the mend

Tuesday, May 07, 2013

I met with my surgeon and got a great report. My outside stitches are gone. I have 2 more weeks of restricted exercise. I will adhere to her recommendations. May 21st is my first day of freedom!

I plan to write up my robotic hysterectomy experience on the DaVinci pages. It may help someone who is unsure about the procedure. I was operated upon at 7:30 am and went to the recovery room at 11 am. I got to my hospital room by 5:30 pm and walked in the hallway at 9 pm. I did the full walk around the hospital building at 5:30 am and went home at noon the next day.

I could not lift anything more than 10 pounds for 6 weeks. I was able to help my husband and also get meals. My cleaning specialist did more cleaning during my recovery.

Your recover is going great-I'm sure the way you follow instructions from the Dr helps a lot! I know you're getting excited about getting back to exercise.

that's a good idea. if more people wrote about their experienced, others might have a better idea of what to expect. My hip replacement didn't go quite that fast. I took a few days to recover from the anesthesia, but i wasn't in any pain. just weak and muddled.
