This is the blog of someone who's having an UnSparkly weekend. I'm eating rice salad (containing three times as many vegetables as rice) Always the sign of food sins to expiate when you catch me eating rice salad.

I have just been reading another Sparker's blog and she's talking about a hot tub. Well, I've seen one on telly so I know what they look like, but as to trying one out . . . Maybe I'll book one somewhere for my next big birthday.

It's very clear though that I'm luckier than a lot of people. Some Sparkers live in small towns where there's no gym and nowhere to walk. I've got a gym membership and I'm only ten minutes' walk from the gym. The membership also allows me into a swimming pool, 25 minutes' walk away. And, something I used to take for granted: in England there are public footpaths all over the shop. We've also got designated national trails for walking or cycling or riding. Makes you wonder why everyone isn't out there all the time.

Then you look out of the window and it's raining again!

I do think though that it's relatively easy for us in the UK to walk from A to B. Of course if you live in a city like London as I do, it's also very very easy to get the bus. Everywhere, all the time.

I'm promising myself not to get the bus anywhere that I can walk to in half an hour or less.

It all counts. And I'm feeling very very bad about this weekend.

Of course if I stopped eating cake that would count too.

This is the second blog I've blogged today. The other is here: confitdecanard.wordpress

This one seemed tame enough. I will read the next blog to see why you're feeling very very bad about the weekend.

    Your "PINK" flowers are cheery.
Sorry you are having a bummer time.
    I have faith in you..
You will pick yourself up and get back on the "HEALTHY" wagon and reach for your goals once again. You can do this... mainly because it is what you really want to do.

grief will make you hungry, it will pass. well done for making a plan to walk rather than use the bus for shorter trips.
I have had a "hungry" w/e too. It does add to the resolve of clean eating tomorrow.
    big hugs

It's my UnSparkly weekend, too, and we have rain. We've had rain off and on all week which is really rare here. Usually, it's sun, sun , sun! That, and we've been in a drought. We don't have walking paths or decent public transportation where I live, but there are parks. both local, state, and federal. You do have to drive to them, though. I think that you get used to what you have and you can make just about anything work for you.

Now if I can just figure out how to get someone else to eat the UnSparkly cake someone sent me for Mother's Day, I'll have a more Sparkly day!

You are, indeed, very fortunate to have the availability of walking paths and good public transportation. I can understand the desire to eat your comfort foods. It has been gray, cold, and raining here for the last week. Awareness is the first step to control. You have a choice as to what you want to do, and how far you want to take it. We all have off days.
Try and focus on the positive. You are, eating more vegetables than rice, and whole grain rice is actually a good thing. Keeping yourself busy with positive distractions is also a good way to handle such situations. emoticon
