...Or should I say Walk.
I really needed to know if it was even possible for me to try for the quarter marathon. I set the goal to walk for 2 hours today. Just got back.
It was hot! I hadn't hydrated during the week so I felt a bit dehydrated. It was slower going than I had been at. In a 2 hour time period i walked 5.95 miles. I think a quarter marathon is 6.55 if I've figured it out correctly.
I have NO pain while walking. My pain comes once I stop and sit down then start moving again. After the walk I drove 2 minutes home. In that short time, when I got out of the car and started walking again my feet killed!
I think the Hippie Chick Quarter Marathon is doable. I have to get over my hangup of finishing last, my goal should just be to finish knowing I've accomplished something greater for myself regardless if I cross the finish line last.
Goal for this week leading up to the event. HYDRATE daily. Walk for an hour or so Mon, Tues and Wed. Nothing planned for Thursday or Friday unless it's just a little leisure stroll with the kiddos.
Any suggestions from the pros out there would be appreciated!
