Now that I am home, I am SOOOO lazy. I get the occasion drive to go to Zumba (which was awesome by the way) or track one day every bite but then the next do nothing. I know that I need to be consistant and once I get a routine, it will be easier. I went for a walk yesterday in the cemetery across the road which I normally do and usually see the people that work there. (They are friends of my Dad's.) I waved to them but as I was leaving, a funeral came through. This is the first time I was there during a funeral because since I usually see the workers, they let me know if there is something that day. It was a little embarrassing and I felt that I was being disrespectful. Now I think I will stick to the trail. This kind of sucks because I have to hop in the car or my van to get to it and there are all kinds of mosquitoes on the trail because of the nearby stream and trees. After about two miles, you then hit fields and it is not so bad. Not bad for a bike ride but for a walk you also need to walk back. Anyway, I will survive.
I still need to unpack from practicum. I know it has already been a week. Yikes. My problem is that I have to place to put anything. I went to Walmart yesterday before work to get some banker's boxes to put everything from my practicums and course work into in an organized way and get them out of the way. Then I also have to tubs that that stuff is now in that I can use to put winter clothes in and clothes that don't quite fit yet. I have my closet and drawers filled with stuff I can not wear because of my weight fluctuating the last couple of years. That would help if I was able to get some things out of my way. Well, I was at Walmart. I know where the banker's boxes are, I was not planning on getting anything else or looking around and figured 1/2 hour is long enough. I was wrong. I'm not sure what was going on in town yesterday but the shortest line had eleven people in front of me. I ended up having 20 mins left by the time I parked, got my boxes and got in line. I had to leave it there because it looked pretty unlikely that each person was getting through in less than 2 minutes. So now I am home with no boxes. That is alright because I will be picking up garbage for most of the day out of the ditches for the annual roadside cleanup. We have a large area to cover because we have a farm and a lot of ditch but also across from us in a cemetery and a house which is now unoccupied. Usually we only need to cover one side. I hope all the tourists appreciate our clean countryside. I will be getting lots of exercise bending down and up today.
You know you're 80's old school when you still have the urge to turn the collar up on your Polo shirts. Oh the polo shirts. Yes I was a preppy so they called us back then. I really was a preppy by default because I did have some of the Ralph Lauren and Varnet and Benneton clothes but I also had a lot of hand-me-downs that were quite out of style. There was a big difference between the style of clothing in 78 and 88 and my siblings were 8 and 10 years older than me. Funny how we thought that turning up the collar and putting on sunglasses made us such bad a%%es.
