I failed!

Friday, May 03, 2013

As mentioned in my previous post, I joined the Spark's Spring boot camp challenge last week and was not able to even finish week 1. Why? Well, life happens. I left the challenge (team) and plan to re-join and start again. I have been very active though. I actually took this week off to work on a home project that has been neglected for years. I could not stand it anymore. I actually don't know how other Moms do it while working full-time. They either have $ to pay someone to do such things or are much better organized with their time. I am talking about keeping their home nice and clean and re-decorating! Anyway... my guest room has had this ugly ugly dirty-looking carpeting and I vowed to do something about it. My husband hates doing any of these big home projects so I was basically on my own! I'm not done yet but did a lot and looked at this project as "exercise". I had to move all of the furniture out of that room and actually threw away a few pieces that was just simply taking up room. I had to rip the carpeting in pieces, roll them, tie them and bring them down the stairs to the garbage. It was about 18 pieces altogether... going up and down the stairs with two rolls in hand. All the bending and pulling and standing... I mean all of that is activity! LOL... Then I vacuumed the wood floor that was underneath. I scraped, spackled, sanded and primed the wall area that needed it. I decided to replace the carpeting with a pretty blue color (which hasn't been purchased yet) and perhaps paint the walls with a light blue with white trim. I am so looking forward to the finished product. Unfortunately, I go back to work on Monday so it is not going to get done as fast but I think the worse of it is over.

Although I was constantly moving, I did not eat as healthy. bad...bad...
The trick is to keep reaching for your goals. So I failed the boot camp. I will continue to keep-on-keeping on! :) Good luck to you all! :)

@LHLADY517 You are right! But i really thought i was going to see this challenge through.

@SPWHITESTONE Glad u got motivated! One project at a time... One day at a time. I dont mind a little mess or clutter. To me, that means it's a home that's well-lived! i feel good... A sense of accomplishment when i clean. do i have cobwebs? Yes! i will get to them eventually. i often wonder how other Moms do it or even bother to do it all. :)

You're motivated me! I also wonder if there are supermoms out there who work full time, cook nutritious meals 7 days a week, keep their homes spotless, and do renovations and decorate in their spare time! I certainly haven't managed to even get close, but you've motivated me to at least start on one home improvement project. Thanks!

I'm not sure I would call that "failed" because you're doing it again. You were stalled. took a side trip, but you didn't fail. To fail would be to give up completely.
