Weekly update: This week I made homemade canned stuff. Strawberry jam, pear jelly with crushed pineapple jam, apple jelly, apple-peach jelly, peach jelly and homemade apple sauce. That was Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday I went on a marathon shopping trip to Hagerstown Outlet where I spent the day with a friend shopping, walking, standing from 9 am to 6 pm. That was fun but exhausting. Then Thursday was my grocery shopping day. After shopping comes putting things away. That means pre-making hamburgers for the freezer, cutting whole chickens into several frozen meals and stocking up and cleaning the pantry. On my feet at least 3 hours. And then I mowed the lawn for 45 minutes. Then today I vacuumed the house and mopped the floors and did laundry.

I find that I feel better when I do work as exercise rather than just exercise. I do not feel like I am wasting my time that way. I would really like to do some fun stuff like swim laps, badmitten, or dancing but I have no one to share it with so I rarely so it.

I plan to make some of my diet cookies. Oatmeal, peanut butter, cocoa, and as little sugar as possible are some of the ingredients. That way at least most of the cookie is healthy. I will probably have fish for dinner and make my son some homemade fries. I will eat pickled beets or broccoli.

All is well. Sherlock is healthy and active. Have a great week end!

PS: ALL the canned stuff was made with low or no sugar pectin.

My husband was sick last Saturday and Sunday and it hit me Tuesday. I logged my food, but did little else. It is starting to let up some, but it began with a mild sore throat which turned into coughing and sneezing-no temperature, a headache which felt like someone was tightening a belt around my head. My nose did not stop up, but my throat felt like I had swallowed a hard cooked egg. Then it felt like I had a band under my arms with tightness in my chest from coughing.

I am glad to be healing up for the weekend.

    You are one busy woman!

My husband is having foot surgery on the 23rd of May.

Great blog. These are the thing I use to do when I had the family - my life has changed since I retired in 2004. I found that I did what I was suppose to do to manage my lifestyle and take care of me - but I realized when I bought the Fitbit One how stationery I became. This past 27 day of exercise has been good for me as I am moving - maybe slowly, but moving. Today, went around the corner with two friends and did a load of laundry, then to a steakhouse for early dinner - was gone form 1 pm until 5:30 pm. This is good for me as I tend to be a homebody, but when I do go out, I am gone for several hours. I feel it tonight. I was good at dinner - had Shrimp Scampi over Rice, Broccoli and Zucchini, water and Carrot Cake for dessert - it was a very small piece. 1/2 of the meal I brought home for tomorrows lunch - the cake I ate every crumb! LOL Normally, I would have ate the whole meal and had a Baked Potato instead of the two veggies. So, I am happy and only put away about 70 Carbs all day. I remember making Strawberry Jam in the '70's - must do that again - especially since I read that you used low or no sugar pectin. So happy to hear Sherlock is healthy and better - Hope your Son enjoys his Fries and you enjoy your dinner...
