Sugar

Today I read a blog by my dear Panther friend Diane about her battle with my old nemesis sugar! The blog is not new but I found it today for the first time! How did I miss this? Because today I needed to learn the information she shared.

Between rounds of BLC, I continually put on the 5 pounds I took off the previous round. I am not an emotional eater, but I do LOVE sugar, and for me a tiny amount leads very quickly to more and more.

Last night I went to bed at 10 PM and woke up at 11:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. So I joined my DH and watched David Letterman and Craig Ferguson. I didn't feel hungry but I was annoyed at myself and antsy, so I picked up a large bag of DH's Wise Buttered Popcorn and proceeded to eat 1/3 of the bag. And I don't really like popcorn!

This binge started earlier in the day with the enriched-flour bread I had at dinner and continued until I realized what I was doing and stopped it. Today I woke up with a headache and tired feeling I get from eating enriched flour and corn, which both turn to sugar. So Diane's blog is exactly what I needed!

    I always thought my strongest temptation was fat - especially in butter and ice cream. But I was able to cut these from my diet with little difficulty - but SUGAR. Wow! The cravings! The irritability!

    I hope you are able to cut it out of your life.
