Well, I was feeling like I needed to do something about where I was headed! I have a pretty small frame so any weight gain is noticeble and I thought I was getting a bit "chubby"...and then some of my clothes were getting a bit tight, especially the spring clothes that I had from last year. I kept telling myself that is was because of my fibroids and that my waist was getting bigger becasuse these little suckers were growing. The I got on the scale and realized that, unless they grew to be 8 pounds bigger I was headed down the slippery slope...I joined weight watchers and have been doing great (the only problem now is that a lot of my clothes are now TOO BIG!!) I have lost a total of 16 pounds and could stop now (but since I turn 50 in a few months, I want to try and see if my metabolism will allow me to get to where I was when I was 30)!!

Another thing that is pretty great is that this "race season" I have been racking up some personal best records!!! I ran my fastest 5k shaving 1 1/2 minutes off my fastest time from last year. I shaved over a minute off the 5k with all the hills that I struggled with last year and took 23 minutes of my fastest half marathon time (in a race that was more than 50% uphill running). I have one more 5k in May (my goal for this one is to shave time off my fastest time). I have a half marathon in September and I would like to take at least 10 minutes off my time, but anything better than the last one is good in my books!!

After that I think I may get my bunions fixed and then all I have to say is WATCH OUT...who knows what my times will be next year:-)

I'm just starting to get into this racing stuff. I raced in the Hyner Challenge for the first time.
