You look so pretty today with the way you did your hair and make-up. I like what the poster Forgot had to say. I'll tell you a true story. My 2nd cousin has a husband who is what they call a meat and potato guy. He wasn't big on vegetables. When her daughter was 8 she was able to obtain a garden plot to grow veggies and fruits. Many cities across the country have garden plots you can rent or some are free. Her daughter and herself took up gardening and grew many veggies. Her daughter would help her make recipes and then say, "Daddy, I made this try it". He wasn't going to say no to his daughter and hurt her feelings. He eventually started to eat more and more veggies and started to gradually somewhat enjoy them. They were now always around so he had no choice.

Continue to stand your ground, you are very right in what you are saying ! Everyone here at Spark People, including me, is for you and your healthy lifestyle even if your husband isn't as supportive. I'm sorry to say but if he doesn't get with the program I feel his health will slip as the years go by... regardless of what he thinks or how he feels in the moment.

Your daughter is too young.. she can't fully understand right now why this is so important and so she can't be your support but as you know for a different reason than your husband.

If you continue living this lifestyle and providing fresh fruits and vegetables in the house and stressing these things and exercise by example, she too will grow up with your values and boy will you be making such a difference in her life! When she is a teenager or a young adult she will stand with you and you will be so proud of her for her own decisions to pursue a healthy lifestyle because you know you that you invested properly in her future all those years back :-)

I believe in you! One day at a time is all we can really do :-) I'm glad you are my friend here on Spark People and that you can feel comfortable enough to share your concerns with all of us here :-)
