Decade Goal Reboot, month 1 recap

On April 1st I reaffirmed my goals to get to 150 by my birthday in September and to overall get healthier. I gave up the scale on Friday the 5th and started adding exercise and overall increased activity on a weekly basis.
In the past 30 days I have:
-had no sugar for 21 days (planning on today being 22).
-stayed in my calorie range for 21 days (planning on today being 22)
-got in at least 5000 steps for 14 days (planning on today being 15)
-actually exercised and got in light cardio probably 8 or 9 of those 14 days

So that's between 3 and 4 days a week of being overall more active and 2-3 days a week of actual exercise for the month. This is a drastic improvement over the previous few months (for activity level and exercise). With a clear path to improve even more next month.

As for sugar and sticking to my calorie range, for the most part, the days I had sugar are the days I went over calories, but not entirely. I need to cut my days of having sugar at least in half it not in half again. 8 days a month is more than once a week (which would be the first goal) and way more than the 2 days a month I'm aiming for. And I'd like to not be over my calories more than 4 days a month. That's sort of the one day a week cheat day idea, but I'm not using it as a free license to eat anything and everything, it's allowing me to have a cocktail or split a fried appetizer and be 100-300 calories over for one day. I will generally have a low calorie day before or after that, so it actually averages out even more normal over the week. Anyway, these are still improvements over the previous few months, but not enough. Again, a clear path is in front of me for improving next month.

So next month my goals are:
have no sugar for 29 days
stay within my calorie range for 27 days
get over 5000 steps on 21 days
actually exercise (cardio) 15 days

Tomorrow, I will weigh and measure. I might even do fitness testing. I haven't done that since March of last year. I don't expect it has changed much, since I'm 10 pounds or so heavier than that time last yer (well, I was at the beginning of this month, haven't weighed since then) and haven't been terribly active. But it'll be a good benchmark to compare to at the end of May after being more active and getting in actual exercise for the month.

I am worth this. I deserve to be healthy.
