Stress Overload and Losing Weight
Saturday, April 27, 2013
I'm stressed. Super stressed. Okay, beyond super stressed. I just changed jobs (woohoo) and am in the process of buying a new home (double woohoo)! But the stress that goes with that is just so overwhelming that I am about ready to collapse from it all. Okay, maybe not collapse, but I did get sick from it.
I went to the doctor yesterday and they took my blood pressure first, 131/98. That's high for someone who hovers around 114/70 on most days. My blood pressure normally goes up a little when I'm sick, but not by that much! Then mom reminded me that I'm under a lot of stress right now, which raises the blood pressure, too.
I had taken some time off from tracking and pushing myself just to focus on one thing at a time...the new job right now. The house doesn't close until 6/17, so I don't have to stress out too much until closer to that time. Although, I had the home inspected on Thursday...the air conditioner is 20 years old...and will need to be replaced in the near future. Just what I wanted to hear.
But with all of this going on, I still lost weight this week! I'm one pound away from the halfway point in my weight loss journey! I'm starting to see huge differences in the way I look and feel. I'm not afraid of wearing clothes that show off my curves anymore and I'm starting to want to pay attention to how I look now.
In all...it is good! Once the move is over, I can rest easily on my new patio sipping a glass of wine while the pups play in the fenced in yard.
