Action Steps

I like that phrase. Action steps. I'm on the Spark Coach thingamajig and they use that a lot.

So my action step for today was to find motivation outside the scale and circumference of my waist line.

Motivation without math. ALWAYS a good thing, yes?

Anyhoo, the biggest thing I've noticed this time is my skin. Now, if you knew me well from a prior stint on Spark, you'll know I was a HUGE tea drinker. Not bad for you, but it kept me from drinking my water. This time, I've made sure to get my water in every day, no matter if I have tea or other drinks. The water even goes up higher if I treat myself to caffeinated tea.

My skin is softer, more supple, and just overall healthier looking. Not just in a general way either. I've had two rough patches (I refuse to divulge where.) These two patches were of a good size, slightly smaller than a music CD. These patches are healed. GONE!! Smooth unblemished, baby soft skin, now. That is freaking amazing! All the creams and a trip to the dermatologist could not ease those and simple clean water has in just a matter of six weeks.

I'm kind of peeved at that doctor because really, I know we all need to pay rent and whatnot, but Dude...should be first on the list no matter what to mention the benefits of water considering you already got over $100 for the initial consult.

Anyhoo, that is the major motivational change I've noticed.

I've also noticed that my energy level is up and steady. I used to come home from work and just want to pass out or sit and watch TV or read. Now, I feel ready to DO something. A whole lot of videos and posts and blogs on Spark are geared towared fitting in activity or workouts. The motivating thing I've noticed is that once you start you no longer have to SEARCH for time to work out or be active. It starts to come more naturally. Granted you may have to juggle to get a serious cardio run in, but overall, you don't gravitate toward the couch.

Of course, my clothes do fit better, and there is nothing like that feeling of those pants just gliding up my thighs and closing quite quickly with room to spare as opposed to the horizontal thrashing and tugging that went on before. (No, not sex, not that lucky.) :P

So yeah...good things happening...even if the scale is a bit sluggish.

For those of you keeping up with the personal struggles in my life. Things are going. Not quite smoothly, but if it weren't for God's grace, the better health, and the lovely friends of Spark, things would seem so much worse. I'm am grateful and I hope each of you has a lovely, relaxing and of course...healthy weekend. Enjoy!
