More Medical issues

Thursday, April 25, 2013

So on the MRI where my back issue was confirmed to be a herniated disc (and arthritis in both hips, surprise!), my doctor found a spot for which I was sent for 2 follow up ultrasounds, one internal, which then called for a referral to my OB-GYN.
This called for blood tests, more ultrasounds and a kind, but insistent call for surgery.

Turns out I had a cyst on my ovary, large enough, and caught suddenly enough, that my Dr insisted it be removed.

I have kept up on working out at least 3 days a week while handling this and a new schedule at work.

Surgery occurred Tuesday, the 23rd, and I am now home, floating in and out of awareness while on pain meds due to the wounds.

These meds are doing little for the shoulder and back pain from being inflated so the instruments could get around without tearing anything else up while in there. I am hoping these pains dissipate soon!

I have been told I will not be able to head back to the gym until at least 10 days after surgery, my post surgery follow up, when I will see how I am doing and healing officially.

In the meantime, my darling hubby is taking care of me, and keeping my food intake low, which is smart since I don't feel comfortable on much food while mostly laying about.

Perhaps I will lose a bit more weight and my stomach will get smaller as it gets used to less food.
