What a Wednesday!

Thursday, April 25, 2013

It was raining and pouring and very windy. I was going to drive the 45 min. to my old book club, I read the book and I really liked it and I liked the people there to. And I had made arrangements to meet my old neighbor. So, I started out and almost turned around 3 times, because of the weather but I persevered.

Stopped at the bakery we used to walk to and got a couple date squares... they're still in the car..

Went ot book club and it was well-attended and I enjoyed it. Re-connected with a couple of the people and got their phone numbers and they told me they missed me and were glad to see me there. Then librarian came in and said there was a call for me!!! Anyway, it was my old neighbor telling me she'd be at the laundromat and might miss me but she'd leave the door open and be back soon.

So, I got there and she was home and I had promised to show her how to make fried rice. I had called the nite before and she asked me to bring her a couple potatoes. I got a funny feeling. So, I took out some single servings of different meats etc. from my "stockpile" and took her some food. She was so appreciate and said though she was too proud to say anything, she showed me her fridge freezer.... it has an ice cube tray in it. The rest of her fridge only had seasoning... NO FOOD!!! OMG, I felt so bad, but so good that I had not only brought as much as I did, but had prepped all the veggies to make us as whole chinese super.
So, long story short, she'd had a very horrible experience with a former friend that afternoon and had been ready to drown herself in a bottle or worse. She told me us was an answer to prayer and an angel, and I had saved her. ANyway, left before dark, stopped at macD's for ice cream cone and had text from my niece telling me that smoked mussels were on sale for 25 cents a can. So, I stopped at grocery store and picked up that and some other stuff,of course. Then stopped at niece's and had tea and started not feeling good. Went home and was feeling much worse. Couldn't get comfy, and finally in great pain and tears, we took a cab to the hospital at 1am, they did EKG, all ok, did blood workup, and kept me till 6 am to do a second set of blood work. Gave me pain killers an muscle relaxants and I came home and went to bed, with no definite diagnosis .. but a couple of pills, telling me what they were called, but not what they were for.

So, I did sleep till noon and though I missed my Free Greek lunch, I am going to shower now for my first book club meeting in my new community. Back is sore again.. Guess I will just take one of each of the pills, since I don't know which is for which..

Long day - first a friend crisis (that you handled like a champ) and then a hospital visit? Yeesh. Maybe get a little extra rest, if you can. You've got a lot going on.

It's frustrating when doctors can't give you a definite answer. I've been months trying to figure out why I have a swallowing problem. No solution to that, but I did find out I have
TMJ really bad and a bulging disk in my neck that has shown no symptoms. Go figure!

I do hope you feel better soon.
