Girl's got legs...

Thursday, April 25, 2013

I think everyone has that one body part that they are ashamed of and wish looked better. For me, it's my legs. I used to love the way my legs looked. In high school, before the word cellulite was in my vocabulary, the shorter the shorts the better. As I've gotten older and heavier, I rarely wear shorts. When I work out, it's pants or capris. Daily casual wear includes nothing shorter than just above the knee - and I don't particularly like the way my knees look either! Not that I'm looking to wear the tiny little shorts of my past, but given that I live in an area that gets to be 100+ degrees on a regular basis in the summer...a little shorter would be nice!
I have definitely stepped up my strength training to work on my legs so hopefully I will see the results by summertime!

My legs used to be my best feature... long and muscular... unfortunately with my first pregnancy I developed varicose veins which only got worse with time. I had a botched vein stripping operation which made things go from bad to worse.

My left leg now looks like its done a few rounds with a boxer! ha

As a consequence I wear yoga pants pretty much 24/7... when I do go to the beach I wear a wet suit. I figure people are going to look at me for the veins or for the wetsuit, with the wetsuit at least I don't have to wear sun block. ha

Hang in there... all you need is some toning! Walking is fabulous, as well as any aerobix classes... Zumba is so much fun if you get the right music and instructor.

I carry a lot of my weight in my legs and my knees are less than beautiful. Cellulite, yes I have more than my share, I got what my sister didn't get. Thanks for sharing, it's nice to know that I am not the only one dealing with less than perfect legs!

I have found that sundresses work great during the hot summer months.
