Oh, My Aching Back!
Wednesday, April 24, 2013
I will be so glad when I have this first garden season finished - at least the tilling and planting phase! Whew! I'm still sore from last weekend!
Last night, I planted 9 more tomato plants, and tilled up the area where I wanted to plant okra, hilled up the squash and cantaloup plants, and tilled the area where I want to plant more rows of bush beans. Tonight I got two rows of okra (the area by the fence where the corn is) and a small row of basil in the ground, and raked out the area behind the shed - lots of weeds and grass got raked into a pile to dry - I'll till that up again tomorrow if the weather holds. My sprinkler system is on a well, and is set to water in everything tonight. Still have some sod to move - What isn't pretty, I'll stack and make potting soil out of it for seedlings. The almanac says no planting this weekend, so I'll work soil and do yard work. And maybe take a picture or two!
My son made dinner (chicken nuggets and salad),
and I took a well-deserved whirlpool bath!!
Now, I'm going to make a cup of tea and relax!
