Just Checking In

Friday, April 19, 2013

This abscess is significantly worse than I had thought, albeit getting better and better. I will probably end up getting this tooth pulled next week, which should put an end to all this.

As things currently stand, the swelling in my face has gone down, from soccer ball size to just a mild case of mumps, maybe. emoticon

The pain has actually moved away from my tooth (thank heavens, that was some horrendous pain!) on to the mumps-looking affected area, including my ear. In fact, it seems to have made its way to my inner ear, as I'm experiencing bouts of dizziness which keep me from engaging in cardio exercise. Not only that, but the strain that occurs when I attempt strength training really sets off the tooth pain, so I'm avoiding that as well. This is starting to scare me a little; too much time off considering I was just getting back on track...and doing such a good job of it, too! I'm sure I can keep that mindset alive for a few more days, then I can just jump right back on that wagon again!

Right now I am taking antibiotics for the infection as well as Vicodin for the pain. The Vicodin is doing more good now than it was when the pain was primarily in my tooth. I guess it works better for soft tissue pain...or something. I'm quite sure that any day now I will be able to share my story better than I am doing lately. I'm just so tired...and pretty much out of it right now, but I'm really getting better every day. Silly how something as minor as a toothache can turn my whole life upside down!

JLITT62, thanks for the encouragement. I think I'm finally feeling well enough to get back to my workouts today, or at least try some easy cardio and ST. It really means a lot to know you have my back! :)

That's not just a toothache & just antibiotics can really knock you out. You'll get right back to it when you're healed up - don't worry!
